Beginner Stand Up Comedy Class
Dive into the world of stand-up comedy and learn to make audiences laugh out loud in this 5-week course. During weekly 3-hour joke-writing and performance workshops, you’ll develop and refine an original 5-minute stand-up comedy routine that will bring down the house. Throughout the course, you will receive guidance and constructive feedback from your instructor and invited guest speakers.
Through a combination of instruction and hands-on practice you will learn what makes people laugh, master the mechanics of joke writing, translate your ideas and experiences into hilarious stand-up material, find your personal comedic voice, and gain confidence on stage.
At the end of the course, you'll perform your finished routine at a Graduation Showcase.
Classes are Wednesdays from 6pm - 9pm on the following dates:
Oct. 21
Oct. 28
Nov. 4
Nov. 11
Nov. 18
Graduation showcase is December 2 at 7pm.
